The aim of the Lab of research area (A) Spatial Environment was to integrate the different research projects of the area theoretically and methodologically. In order to achieve this, we offered two kinds of events: on the one hand, there were meetings that focus primarily on modelling approaches and their value for, as well as ability to, integrate human and nature oriented research; on the other hand, discussion groups took place that survey and discuss different theoretical approaches regarding their ability to integrate knowledge from social and natural sciences, and hence to allow a holistic understanding of the problems and questions treated in the different research projects in area A.
